Book & Safety Tours
The debut of The Meterman's Bible took place in Seattle, WA in 2009 at the Northwest Meter School. Our 1st Anniversary was in September 2010 and we had completed our first 'On the Road' tour called: The "Virgin Turf Tour" ... Our 2nd tour "Be Safe All Ways" kept us busy until our 2nd Anniversary in September 2011. We are now heading into our 3rd year and gearing up for our 3rd Anniversary, but we have switched gears. We are currently co-ordinating training courses across the country and will be updating with our program, courses, costs, dates and locations as they are confirmed. If you have a training facility and would like to discuss the possibility of allowing us to use the training space in exchange for 1 attendee, please contact us.
TOUR DATES 2012 (*Tentative)
*May 7-11, 2012 MSEMA - Franklin, TN - Brad was the opening speaker at the 2010 meter school, sharing his "Keepers of the Craft" message with all the attendees. In 2011, Brad taught classes and supported other instructors with material and support. We were unable to visit our friends at MSEMA in Gatlinburg this year. We wish their school ongoing success and hope to be back there next year in 2013. View 2010 Photos
*June 24-28, 2012 NCEMS - Sunset Beach, NC - Brad & I enjoyed our participation at NCEMS in 2010 and Brad was happy to have had the opportunity to teach Meter Vectoring Principles, Metering Safety, and lead a discussion with managers on "Building Healthy Customer Relationships". See 2010 photos.
*August 12-16, 2012 GLEMS - Grand Rapids, MI - We had a great time and enjoyed our experiences at GLEMS in 2010 as "1st Year Attendees". The food was incredible and the 'project' class was truly a unique and well structured event encouraging attendees to visit with vendors.
August 27-31, 2012 NWMS - Seattle, WA - The Metergod's "home turf" so to speak. Brad has been part of the NW Meter School every year since 1996. His phase angle labs & class lectures instill knowledge and promote safety: "You are Smart, your equipment is dumb". In 2011, Brad was invited to present as the opening speaker with his "Keepers of the Craft" message! It was an honor for him, he was delighted to 'kick off' the school, setting a tone for "Being a Keeper of the Craft". The best part was hearing the participants/students saying to each other "I can smell ice". (You'll have to attend the Titanic "Keepers" Safety presentation to appreciate that one.)
October (1st week), 2012 Univ of Arkansas: Electric Meter School - Fayetteville, AR - the 2009 school was officially our 1st Vendoring Event. While there Brad taught the 2nd half of a Phase Angle Relationship class. At the 2010 school, Brad felt honored to have been chosen for the Safety Kick-Off meeting as the opening presenter. Our 2011 experience waned from our first two. The school revamped the Vendor process, moving us to a room over at the connecting hotel rather than amongst the attendees. This shift provided little opportunity for the students to view our books and while Brad enjoyed his time teaching, our vendoring experience left a lot to be desired.
October 10-13, 2012 The International Lineman's Rodeo & Expo - Overland Park, KS - Brad felt truly blessed and honored to have been invited to be an opening speaker at the 2010 Safety Expo... His motivating and inspiriational safety presentation was well received by all the craftsmen and craftswomen from around the world who attended the presentation. Our 2011 experience was just as exciting, especially having our Transformer Training book samples on hand - stay tuned for order dates.
*October 22-26, 2012 SWEMA at TEEX - Bryan, TX - Our 2nd round at TEEX was even better than the first! Brad delivered a safety discussion on Arc & Flash in Meter Sockets and also taught a Meter Wiring course for Group/Session III. We had traveled to Bryan, TX in August 2010 to take part in a 1 day work day preparing for the 2010 Meter Wiring class. Unfortunately, we were not able to participate in the 2011 school and truly missed our friends there. We hope we are able to make it back there in 2012.

Northwest Meter School in Seattle, WA - NWMS
The Debut of The Meterman's Bible took place at the Northwest Meter School in Seattle, WA in September 2009. "We're a hit!" Many friends and colleagues stopped by to check out the books and even kept coming back for more. It was the talk (highlight) of the meter school and that was a wonderful feeling which encouraged us to begin the "Virgin Turf" tour! -
The 3rd Printing of the Meterman's Bible!
The New & Improved Meterman's Bible still has the same great information and full color diagrams, but now with a laminated wrap around cover! Take a tour of B&B's printer house..... -
The Arkansas Meter School in Fayetteville, AR
We have met many nice people who share the same visions and values regarding the metering craft as we do. Folks here are friendly and full of helpful advice! Brad taught a class on Phase Angle Relationships for the Advanced Group, his first year there. The following year he was invited to deliver the Opening Session as well as teach a vectoring class for the Intermediate Group. Many of the students welcomed his style of teaching and really enjoyed getting to experience an engaging learning environment. The information provided, helped make the hands-on lab an even better success. -
The International Lineman's Rodeo in Kansas City, KS
Wow! International... It's so extraordinary to be among a community of linemen oriented individuals who get excited about our books and training materials. -
Southwest Electric Meter Association at TEEX in Bryan, TX - SWEMA
We heard that everything was Big in Texas and it's true! Texas is so big it takes a whole day to drive across it. We take the back roads to keep it interesting, at least until our GPS unit, which is fondly named "Amelia", tries to take us on Farm Roads... We think: "nah" stick to the Highway! Just goes to show ya'll: "We are Smart, our Equipment is Dumb!" Right??? (For those of you who recall Brad's lectures, pep talks, or Metergodisms!) -
EUSERC - Sacramento, CA
We've enjoyed our experiences at EUSERC. Seeing familiar faces from NWMS and meeting lots of new ones. It really is exciting to be sharing our passion with others in the field. Seeing their eyes light up and be so excited about the books and training products. We are blessed to have such warm reception and continued success. -
Rocky Mountain Electric Meter Assoc. in Fort Collins, CO - RMEMA
Well, I got some really nice shots of the city and a couple on the campus, but because this was a 1 day event, I didn't have a chance to take photos of the event :( Sorry! We did enjoy our afternoon there, even though the time was just too short... -
Mid-South Electric Meter Association - Tennessee - MSEMA
Southern Hospitality at it's finest. MSEMA generally alternates their meter school every other year between Franklin, TN (near Nashville) and Sevierville, TN (near Knoxville). We really enjoy this meter school and all the efforts to keep it 'alive' as well as being great about vendor/participant associations. There is a nice commraderie amongst the attendees and exhibitors and trainers/teachers. -
The North Carolina Meter School at Sunset Beach, NC - NCMS
This was the only meter school we didn't actually drive to in 2010. We flew into Myrtle Beach, SC and what a vastly different atmosphere: humidity, rain, along with nightly Thunder & Lightening! We had a blast sharing our books with the warm and friendly attendees at NCEMS. We appreciated the warm welcome we received as well as the excited reception of our books and training materials!!
