This page is dedicated to ALL electrical craftspeople but especially the metering craft.
It is my deep and passionate desire to see electrical metering continue and flourish with the integrity and respect the craftspeople of this trade deserve.

"If I have been able to see farther than others, it was because I stood on the shoulders of giants."
- Sir Isaac Newton
This quote has become one of my guiding principles.
Although at the time, I did not know it would be such a fundamental inspiration for me, my business, and ultimately my fellow craftsmen/women. I am blessed in having received this gift and I share it passionately in my "Keepers of the Craft" (The Titanic Presentation)
In April of 2006 I attended a black tie dinner function honoring an Osteopathic Doctor from Alaska. A warm and giving man who followed his passion and accepted the award that evening humbly acknowledging: “We stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, and we must provide for others to stand on ours.” He thanked his mentors and friends, even insisting that one of his friends in attendance share in the honor. I have not forgotten that speech or the influence that it had on me and his statement is one I hope you the user/ reader/ apprentice/ journeyman will keep in mind too as you travel on your metering path.
It frustrates and saddens me to see the lack of respect the metering craft receives and not what it deserves. I know from my own experiences that the respect that is required in the metering craft for safety and integrity is at risk, as the old guard of metering professionals prepare to retire out and move on to new journeys. With this changing of the guard there is a vast amount of strategic knowledge that they will be taking away with them, leaving the younger push button world to falter and feel it’s way through tactical experiences in the pursuit of strategic knowledge with limited guidance. Those entering the craft at this time will not know the value of the depletion in core knowledge of the craft that I see. This shift in knowledge from slide ruler to calculator, so to speak, is going to put our craft and the respect it deserves even more at risk than in any time before.
Be safe all ways,
Brad
PS: The photo above was taken on the campus of Colorado State University in March 2010 while attending the Rocky Mountain Electric Meter School. I had the blessing of finding this bench which I knew to be encouragement that I was on the right path in my pursuit of sharing my knowledge with others in this craft.
