Metering Safety - Share your safety story by clicking on 'comment'.
Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 10:48AM Meter Safety means focus!
Coming home safely at the end of EVERY day is what your family wants from you, just as you want to know that your family has survived their day too, right? There are far too many stories about workers not wearing PPEs and thinking that they are capable of doing a job 'real quick' because they've "always been okay" again, and again, the next job went okay, and the next ,until one day: FLASH! Reality strikes and your life (and the lives of those you love) is changed FOREVER!!
Be Safe All Ways! Means: All Ways!! At home, work, or play... Where are you? Your environment, the atmosphere, your state of mind. Think about where you are. Know what you are doing and be aware! For example: When doing voltage tests: do you "Look around? Where is Ground?"
If you know of a safety story that would help to remind all of us just how precious life is, Share it here!!! Sometimes there are minor incidents and they were lucky, but others not so...
Click on 'Comments' if you have something to share with us. It's good to share dangers that may help to keep others safe... Providing strategic knowledge to those who may only have a bit of tactical awareness.
It's also healing for some to share their stories or to know that others face (or have faced) similiar incidents.
What did you learn?
How has it changed your life?
What advice to you have?

The thing that was driven home to me late last year is that you can get injured on the job without violating any safety rules at all. I have always considered myself safety conscious and demand that my technicians are also. Someone on a construction site violated several safety and OSHA rules and began spraying come caustic chemicals right around the corner from where I was supervising my technicians. The only warning we got was me getting sprayed in the side of the face from behind and in my eye (from behind my glasses) with an acid used for cleaning bricks.
